Camilla wears forest green as Charles opts for classic tweed at the annual Highland Games
King Charles III and Queen Camilla embraced the Scottish spirit as they arrived at the 2026 Braemar Gathering on Saturday.
The annual Highland Games, held at the Princess Royal and Duke of Fife Memorial Park near Balmoral, are among the most anticipated events of the royal couple’s summer in Scotland.
Charles, patron of the Braemar Royal Highland Society, appeared in brighter spirits later in the day as he and Camilla shared smiles and laughter.
The King presented trophies to the winners, while the Queen took time to speak with a young girl who had participated in the opening dance.
Camilla wore a tailored coat in rich forest green, finished with distinctive red-and-green buttons. Beside her, Charles wore a brown-and-cream checked tweed suit with a matching waistcoat and a crisp shirt.
The King is also expected to receive new Prime Minister Andy Burnham at Balmoral for the first time.
Burnham became prime minister in July, succeeding Sir Keir Starmer after the former Labour leader stepped down.
