Sarah Ferguson is reportedly preparing for a quiet UK comeback after finally resolving her living arrangements following several months of uncertainty.
The former Duchess of York was left searching for a new home after King Charles reportedly ordered Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor and Ferguson to leave Royal Lodge in Windsor.
In recent months, Fergie is believed to have been staying in Portugal with her daughter Princess Eugenie, who recently welcomed her third child with husband Jack Brooksbank. Ferguson reportedly remained there to support her daughter following the birth.
She is now said to be planning her return to Britain, coinciding with Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s reported move back to the country.
According to The Sun, Ferguson is renting a six-bedroom property in a gated Home Counties community for £10,000 a month.
“She’s had her eyes on a return for some time, but it takes time to find the right new house,” a source told the outlet.
“She hasn’t had to worry about accommodation for 20 years, as she had Royal Lodge with Andrew. Now’s the right time to get back to her life.”
The insider claimed Ferguson believed she could return without attracting too much attention because the public’s focus was on Harry and Meghan, who were reportedly coming back to Britain after six years.
According to the source, she “thought she could slip back under the radar after seven months away.”
Removal vans were also reportedly seen collecting some of Ferguson’s belongings from Andrew’s Sandringham residence this week.
She is now expected to move into her new home imminently and could be settled there by Monday.
