Meghan Markle has been advised to remain authentic as she reportedly prepares to settle into an “extremely expensive” home in the Cotswolds.
The Duchess of Sussex is accustomed to living among famous faces. Her lavish Montecito neighbourhood in California is home to several Hollywood stars and other high-profile residents.
Although the Cotswolds also attracts wealthy and well-known figures, celebrity neighbour Laurence Llewellyn-Bowen believes Meghan will need to keep a few important things in mind while adjusting to the local community.
“It is going to be interesting to see how the Duchess fits in because, unlike the other side of the Cotswolds, we’re much less impressed by celebrity,” he told Express.co.uk.
The television personality explained that the area tends to appeal to celebrities who are comfortable being themselves and do not expect special treatment because of their status.
“I think [Meghan] is going to need to be very genuine,” Llewellyn-Bowen continued. “I think that’s the big moment here, is that the Cotswold folk can really sniff b******t, you know, they can really sniff when people aren’t being who they are.”
His remarks suggest Meghan’s ability to embrace the community without relying on her celebrity profile could play an important role in how warmly she is received by her new neighbours.
Daily Mail journalist Charlotte Griffiths previously claimed that the property is worth approximately £10 million, describing the residence as “incredibly luxurious.”
Meanwhile, Prince Harry and Meghan have reportedly issued a firm warning to the British press, urging media outlets not to disclose the exact location of their residence. The couple appears determined to protect their privacy as they establish a new base in the United Kingdom.
