The royal family has shared its first public update amid growing speculation about tensions between King Charles and Prince William.
On August 7, the Palace’s official Instagram account continued with its usual schedule, posting photographs from Princess Anne’s latest royal engagement at Redford Barracks.
The Princess Royal attended a rehearsal for the Royal Edinburgh Military Tattoo, an event she has supported as patron since 2006.
According to the Palace, Anne met members of the international cast as well as the military personnel and crew working behind the scenes.
“This year, more than 800 people from around the world will perform against the iconic backdrop of Edinburgh Castle,” the caption stated.
Although the post did not address the alleged royal rift, it came as reports claimed that Charles and William are increasingly divided over Prince Harry and Meghan Markle.
Sources allege that the King and his eldest son continue to present a united front publicly, while privately holding very different views about the Duke and Duchess of Sussex.
Charles, who continues to receive cancer treatment, is reportedly open to giving Harry and Meghan another chance. William, however, is said to remain firmly opposed because he allegedly believes the Sussexes cannot be trusted.
Neither Buckingham Palace nor Kensington Palace has publicly commented on the latest claims.
