The royal estate welcomes visitors for its autumn season amid a challenging period for the King
Tradition holds a special place in the Royal Family, with many customs passed down through generations. Among the most cherished is the family’s annual retreat to Balmoral Castle in Scotland.
The estate was a favourite of Queen Elizabeth II and remains close to the hearts of King Charles and other family members. Now, visitors have the chance to experience the setting that continues to draw the royals back.
In a new announcement, the Palace welcomed the public to Balmoral for its autumn season.
“We’re delighted to welcome visitors back to Balmoral for our 2026 Autumn Opening,” the statement read.
“The grounds and gardens are now open to explore, along with the Ballroom Exhibition and Mews Gift Shop, while our Restaurant is ready to welcome you during your visit.”
The autumn opening runs until November 1, with tickets available online.
“A selection of special experiences will also take place throughout the autumn and early winter, including Castle Interior Tours, Evenings at Balmoral and Balmoral Expedition Tours,” the announcement continued.
“Whether you’re returning to Balmoral or visiting us for the first time, we look forward to welcoming you this autumn.”
The announcement comes amid a challenging period for King Charles, who has faced calls for reparations alongside ongoing family tensions. The original report also linked heightened tensions to what it described as Charles Spencer’s release of Diana’s memoir.
